1.     CAD Technician

A leading west side metal fabrication company founded in 2000 offering services in the areas of cutting, forming and welding metals is looking for a CAD Tech.

------------------------------------ Qualifications for the Position ------------------------------

  • A minimum requirement is an Associate’s Degree with 2 years of experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and Solidworks software is a must; also experience in Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
  • It will be helpful to have an understanding in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop  
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
  • And last, but not least, the ability to get to work and on time—every day

------------------------------------- Essential Responsibilities ------------------------------------

  • Use CAD system to draw manufacturing prints for the fabrication of new parts
  • Make routine engineering computations, prepare specifications and make adjustments in drawings or specifications when needed
  • Assist with making tool cards and drawing tools and fixtures
  • Adhere to strict machine shop safety practices and standard drawing specifications

 2.    CNC Programmer

The same west side metal fabrication company is looking for a CAD/CAM programmer who can be responsible for generating and optimizing code CNC machining centers through offline programing software system (Master CAM).  Responsibilities include all aspects of programming from solid models to creating geometry from blueprints; creating job setup sheets and in-process inspection sheets.  Will train for the right person; report to mechanical engineers.

------------------------------------ Qualifications for the Position ------------------------------

  • High School graduate required and some college preferred
  • Ability to read and edit CNC programs
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints
  • Familiarity with Okuma, Haas and Citizen equipment a plus
  • Experienced with vertical machine center and/or press bakes
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions and percentages, area

------------------------------------- Essential Responsibilities ------------------------------------

  • Program and optimize code for a variety of CNC machine tools and supporting equipment.
  • Convert and import customer supplied 3-D models.
  • Create detailed tool lists and set-up sheets for part operations.
  • Recognize and solve problems in coordination with Manufacturing/Engineering departments that affect manufacturing plans including cycle times, tool lists and quality.
  • Adhere to all customers’ recommendations, as required and all Company established rules.
