 Job Description and Summary

  • Enjoy cooking for the care and well-being of people and working in a team environment. This job requires a cook who can prepare meals following standardized recipes for regular and therapeutic diets. Your appearance is important and must be professional.

  • As a Line Cook, you will be responsible to inspect food deliveries for accuracy and quality and making sure the kitchen operation is safe and sanitized, adhering to local Department of Health regulations and all company policies. 

  • Working in a commercial kitchen can be fast-paced in terms of daily tasks and upward mobility. Various functions are needed to keep the meal program running smoothly, equivalent to a 100-person service line.

Salary/Pay
Starting at $16.00 to $17.00 hourly based on experience, competitive insurance and benefits and incentives apply.

Qualifications and Duties

  • Child and Adult Care Food Program training (CACFP) is a plus

  • You will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check

  • Must be free to work Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-to-60-minute lunch break.

  • You will be trained on making weekly food orders through vendors and maintain daily production and reporting

  • Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation of each meal

  • Prepare appropriate amounts of food for each classroom, with amounts served meeting staff food program guidelines

  • You’ll work with team administrators to approve weekly menus that reflect child and adult care food program requirements.

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for all classrooms. Breakfast 7:00 am to 8:30 am Prepping for lunch between 9:00 am to 10:00 am; Prepping for next day breakfast 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm

  • Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature
